Panama City &
Bocas Del Toro, Panama
Out of all the places I've traveled, Central America is one of my favorite destinations. The culture is rich, the people are friendly and the food is to die for. I stayed in the old Panama City town, Casco Viejo, with an unbelievable cityscape view across the water, gorgous buildings, sunsets and fresh fish daily.
My second stop, Bocas Del Toro, Panama, was only accessible by an 11 hour overnight bus ride followed by a 30 minute water taxi out to the actual islands. All of the Boca islands were between a 30 second boat ride up to 10 minute boat ride from each other. The coolest thing was the boat taxis. You literally stand at the end of the dock, wave your hand in the air and for a $1-$5 a boat will take you to another island. The islands were abundent with lots of snorkling, starfish, hikes through jungles and sloth sightings. Try the local street food, go to the local salsa bars and clubs, its a guaranteed good time!
